Anavila Mishra at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014

After a crackling debut last season, fashion designer Anavila Mishra showcased her collection titled “Mohenjo Daro” on day 2 at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 which celebrated Indian traditional handlooms and textiles. A series of rustic saris with shirt blouses and lose kurtis featured techniques like block printing. Ajrak printing along with over-dyeing and printing techniques were used on handloom linen, cotton and silk in hues of mehendi, ivory, navy and rust red. The highlight was the handwork done on the hand-woven textiles. The block printing and ikat gave prominence to the Indus motifs.

The intellectual Konkona Sen Sharma walked the ramp for Anavila Mishra in a rustic yellow-golden saree  teamed with a metallic golden blouse. Bollywood diva Kriti Sanon of Heropanti fame walked the ramp for River Island’s debut showing at Lakme Fashion Week. While Kriti Sanon looked youthful and trendy in metallic separates, the show itself boasted great mix of contemporary style with a perfect blend of modernity and sophistication. The young and budding designers from DREAM ZONE fashion school presented there collection on Day 1 of Bangalore Fashion Week Winter Festive.

 

The collection was indeed a combination of prints and colors with the fresh vibe added to it.

The vibrant sarees with boho prints looked so chic and contemporary while keeping alive the traditional feel.

 

This one stands out to be our favourite pick. The glowing yellow so reminds us of Mustard.

Looking back at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014

While we are still cherishing the extravaganza of the Bangalore Fashion Week, we began to realise that in not more than 12 hours will begin the much awaited Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015.

So how about reliving some hot moments from the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Spring?

Sequin panels with sportswear influences, head-to-toe digital prints, balanced use of colours and the chic styling and the Snake & Ladder prints by Fashion designer Digvijay Singh were just the beginning of breathless moments on Day 1.

   

Spotted in Nishika Lulla’s front row were Kalki Koechlin & Tamannah Bhatia. We loved the cute chic look they pulled off.
